INFORMATIONLITERACY What is information literacy? Information literacy is the ability for a person to research any type of information and read it from a website, book, novel, etc. It is also the ability to find information about things you need in a long paragraph, rather than wasting time and reading the whole thing.
Why do we need it? Without information literacy, we would waste time reading long paragraphs, instead of just picking out pieces of information that we need.
How/When do I trust the information from a website? The types of websites that I trust are very few. Many websites these days have the option to be edited by people across the globe. For example, wikipedia is a website that can be edited by anyone where they can add false information. Other websites that have many pop ups are websites I don’t trust. Some websites that I trust have games, not many pop ups, etc. Definitions
Information Literacy: The ability to find and read information and pick out parts that you need, rather than wasting time and reading.
Validity: The act or quality of being valid (correct).
Information Literacy( V=Valid website ) ( X= Invalid website ) [ v ] Golfcross-No pop ups, seems valid, no place for anyone to edit. [ v ] Buy Dehydrated Water-There’s no place to edit the page. [ x ] Inreach-Page looks like it could be edited. [ x ] The Dog Island-It is fake, no such thing. [ x ] Shibumi-Nothing but a blocked page. [ x ] StephenWorks (Funky Shoes)-False info, common sense makes me think no. [ x ] Fun Phone-Many links, some pop ups, common sense. [ x ] Bandersnatch-Information leads to colleges, that are fake. I think it’s unvalid.

Internet- a great computer network linking smaller computer networks worldwide. It includes commercials, websites, etc.
Identity- To have a certain type of look that originates you, and can be fake using the internet.
Vetted site- to make a careful check of (a person or document) for suitability
Predator- An organism that lives by preying on other organisms
Alias- a false name used to conceal one's identity
Safety- the state of being safe; freedom from the occurrence or risk of injury, danger, or loss.
SENTENCES **
Using the internet requires safety, because of many predators with a fake identity, or alias talking to you and researching you. You always have to make sure to be careful when a stranger emails you, because you never know if they are a vetted predator or future friend.
My Quote
"If you are given a chance to be a role model, I think you should always take it because you can influence a person's life in a positive light,
and that's what I want to do. That's what it's all about."
